Sustainability is something I care deeply about — both in my jewellery-making and in my everyday choices. I believe in being mindful of what we consume, how we live day to day, and doing what we can to reduce our impact on the environment. A big part of that for me is wearing pre-loved clothing: most of my wardrobe comes from charity shops, second-hand platforms, or swap events. It’s an amazing way to give clothes another cycle of life instead of feeding into fast fashion.
That’s why I’m so excited to be collaborating with Fashion Flip Dublin at Bohemia Flea Market on Sunday, 28th September! ✨ Fashion Flip is all about where fashion meets sustainability, creating a fun and social way to rethink our relationship with clothing.
Did you know? 🍀 In Ireland, around half a tonne of clothing is dumped into landfill every minute, leading to significant environmental harm. That includes producing over 12 tonnes of carbon emissions — the equivalent of driving 65,000 kilometres in a car. By swapping instead of shopping fast fashion, we can reduce this waste and help build a circular economy where clothes are reused and recycled. Even small efforts like this can leave a big positive fingerprint on the environment.
Here’s how the swap works:
👗 Go through your wardrobe and pick out clean, gently used clothes and accessories you no longer wear.
🎟️ Book your slot on Eventbrite here – it helps the team manage numbers and keep the space respectful and enjoyable.
👕 Bring up to six pieces of clothing (second-hand or new, fashionable, clean, and in good condition).
⛔ Not accepted: underwear, nightwear, sportswear, swimwear, shoes, or broken/dirty clothing.
🪙 Collect your tokens (you’ll receive five tokens for four items). Already have tokens from the April event? Bring them along and use them!
💖 Browse through the unique selection, pick what you like, and take it home.
The first two swappers of the day will even receive a little gift! ✨
